Rolls-I-Bring-To-Every-Family-Gathering

Karla Ward

In KitchenAid or Bosch:

2 Cups warm water
2 Tablespoons yeast

While it is sitting, mix into a bowl:

2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cups powdered milk
2 teaspoons salt

Add to yeast mixture:

1/3 cup melted butter
1 egg

Add dry ingredients. Then, add 3 more cups of flour. REMEMBER: This will not look like traditional bread, but instead like a really thick batter. Let your dough hook do its work for a few minutes. Transfer batter to a large greased bowl and turn to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled. Punch down and separate into three pieces. You will need to use lots of flour on your counter because the dough is super sticky. Roll each piece into a large circle. Use a pizza cutter to cut into 12 pieces. Roll each piece up starting from the wide end. Place on a greased cookie sheet, 6 rows and 6 down for 36 rolls. Melt another 1/2 cube of butter and brush over rolls. Cover and let rise while you preheat your oven to 400 degrees. My oven takes about 10 minutes to preheat, and then I just go ahead and bake the rolls without waiting any longer. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until golden. Enjoy!
